TRADITION (S A M P R A D A Y A M )

The word tradition ( Sampradaya) in Sanskrit means that which gives in abundance by all means i.e., good life.

Rshis, who have renounced the worldly life and sought refuge in the higher instincts, have conferred some ways of living, with their experience, to us to enable us to live peacefully and prosperously. Our ancestors, who followed the tradition conferred, lived peacefully and prosperously. It is the earliest and the most oldest, dating back to the time of creation.

LIFE AS UNFOLDED BY BHAGAVADGEETHA

Every being is a threefold entity - viz., body, mind, consciousness. Consciousness alone is theme and building block of life. It is the tendency of beings to identify themselves with body and mind, leaving consciousness for all practical purposes. Yoga is considered as a set of physical exercises, some praanaayaama; may be some meditation by many, including so called gurus. It is true, but there are much higher dimensions than those for proper evolution. Only qualified gurus can confer them and they are difficult to get for they are beyond the scope of worldly order.
All the beings have been created at the time of creation, with consciousness, mind and body complex with male and female principles. Body and mind is the female principle (Prakrithi) and consciousness is male principle (Purusha). Mind, when decisive is intellect (Buddhi) and when claiming ownership is ego (Ahankaara). The female principle consists of 5 elements (earth, water, fire, air and space) and mind, intellect and ego. Without the combination of male (purusha) and female (prakrithi) principles, there is nothing in the universe.

Dharma

Hindhuism is the name given by historians, refering to Sindhu civilisation. It is actually SANTHANA ( ETERNAL) DHARMA. Paramaatma, after creating the worlds and beings, set codes of conduct, which are invariably implemented by certain divines created for that purpose. No being can escape these eternal laws. There is justice and judgement comes on its own.

Earlier, people were afraid of the laws and judgements. Hence, they behaved as directed by the laws. There were exceptions like--Hiranyaaksha, Hiranyakashipu, Raavana, Kumbhakarna etc. Even though, they were invincible, they met with the justice, finally.

Now a days , ignorance of scriptures and eternal laws of justice, is causing mis-understanding and mis-interpretation. Otherwise, how can the creator be bribed to ignore the sins? The lord does not need golden ornaments and feasty foods. He wants beings to be devoted to HIm heartfully, offer whatever little they can like--patram, pushpam, thooyam, with devotion and seek His refuge for protection. What can be offered to the lord, who bestows every thing. If any body thinks, otherwise, is fooling himself. What is not ours and belongs to others, is like poison, which ultimately destroys the grabber.
